Sunflower Foundation hosts speakers series on health and advocacy

The Sunflower Foundation is inviting Kansans to a special speaker’s series on health and advocacy. Hear from leading national experts on advocacy, health care and health media. These speakers will inspire, teach and enlighten all of us, giving us insights that will make us better able to serve the needs of the people of Kansas. Following each speech, there will be a reception to meet the speaker. All four speeches, and the receptions that follow, are free and open to the public, but require advance registration.

State's largest health insurer goes tobacco free

With recent trends favoring smoking bans, the state's largest health insurer, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, is stepping up its commitment to promote healthier lifestyle choices. Starting July 1 the company, which employees 1,450 people in Topeka and its 10 field offices throughout the state, will implement a new tobacco-free workplace policy.
